For the first time this season, Oldenburg Football had a lead. Unfortunately, the Twisters couldn’t hold it as they lost 22-6 at Switzerland County.
“We lost a tough game,” said Oldenburg coach Bryan Mitchell. “The game was close all the way, with most of the score being 7-6 until late. Our defense played much better with Mark Wolfe leading the way with two sacks, six tackles (four for loss) and four assists. But our lack of depth hurts us. The guys gave me everything they had, but at the end of the day, 16 guys is tough. And with the heat, it was even tougher. But these guys gave it everything they had, and I couldn’t ask more of them. They played their hearts out.”
Caleb Greiwe scored Oldenburg’s first and only TD on a short run in the first quarter. The two-point try after was unsuccessful. The Pacers Gavin Reese tied the game in the second on another short run. A Levi Goldsberry kick after gave the hosts a 7-6 lead, one which they never relinquished.
