Norma Elaine Kolb, age 77

Norma Elaine Kolb, age 77, of Brookville, Indiana died Thursday, March 3, 2016 at her residence in Brookville.

Born November 27, 1938 in Hamilton, Ohio, she was the daughter of the late Norman Earl Turner. She attended the former Whitewater High School, and also the Connersville Area Vocational School. She went on to become a machinist, and was the first female C & C Operator at Campbell Hausfeld in Harrison, Ohio.

On March 10, 1956 she became the wife of Leo Kolb, and he survives.

She was a member of St. Michael the Archangel Catholic Church in Brookville, the Daughters of Isabella, and had also served as a Brownies Leader. She had a deep devotion to her family, and providing for them. She was also well known for her baking skills, and in her later years became known as the “Pie Lady”.

Besides Leo, her husband of nearly 60 years, survivors include six children, Veronica Lynn Ensor of Lawrenceburg, Indiana, Kimberly S. Sizemore and Beverly Kolb both of Brookville, Indiana, James (Linda) Kolb of Maineville, Ohio, Elmer (Lori) Kolb of West Harrison, Indiana, and Brenda K. Cheeseman of Cincinnati, Ohio; 11 grandchildren; 9 great-grandchildren; 8 brothers & sisters, Lois Abercrombie of South Carolina, James (Bonnie) Turner of West Harrison, Indiana, Walter (Linda) Turner and Cecil Turner all of Brookville, Indiana, Ethel Lee (Luther) Noble of Cedar Grove, Indiana, Frank Turner of Aurora, Indiana, and Daniel Stevens and Herbert Stevens both of Kentucky.

She was preceded in death by her father, Norman Earl Turner, as well as a brother Norman Eugene Turner.

The Very Rev. Sean Danda will officiate the Mass of Christian Burial on Monday, March 7, 2016, 10:30 A.M., at St. Michael the Archangel Catholic Church, 145 East St. Michaels Blvd., Brookville. Burial will then follow in St. Michaels Catholic Cemetery in Brookville.

Family & friends may visit from 4 until 8:00 P.M. on Sunday, March 6, 2016 at Phillips & Meyers Funeral Home, 1025 Franklin Avenue, Brookville, where the Rosary will be recited at 3:45 P.M. on Sunday.
