Mrs. Patricia L. “Pat” (Scott) Knox

Mrs. Patricia L. “Pat” (Scott) Knox, age 89, of Vevay, Indiana, entered this life on January 4, 1925, in Louisville, Kentucky, the daughter of the late, Capt. Clair Scott & Alma (Baars) Burrows. She was raised in Louisville, Kentucky, where she was a 1943 graduate of Louisville Girls High School. Pat was united in marriage on October 13, 1949, in Carroll County, Kentucky, to the late, Willie D. Knox & to this union arrived a son, Dickie to bless their home. Patricia & Willie shared nearly 47 years of marriage together until Willie passed away on January 26, 1996. Patricia was employed in the dining room for the Ogle Haus Inn in Vevay, Indiana & for the Belterra Casino & Resort in Florence, Indiana, for several years. Pat was a former employee for the US Shoe Factory in Vevay, Indiana, retiring after 25 years of service. She was a member of the American Legion Ladies Auxiliary Post No. 185, the Vevay VFW Ladies Auxiliary Post No. 5396 & the Mount Sterling Baptist Church. Patricia resided most of her life in the Switzerland County Community. Pat was a loving mother & grandmother. Pat died at 2:45 am, Wednesday, July 16, 2014, at the King’s Daughters’ Hospital in Madison, Indiana.

Pat will be missed by her son: Dickie Knox of Vevay, IN; her grandsons: Steven Knox & his wife: Amanda of Vevay, IN, Ricky Knox & his wife: Ashley of Vevay, IN & her great-grandchildren: Jordan Knox, Mahaila Grace Knox, Madison Patricia Knox & Keylie Jo Knox.

She was preceded in death by her parents: Capt. Clair Scott & Alma (Baars) Burrows; her husband: Willie D. Knox, died January 26, 1996; her brother: Kenneth Lee Scott; her sister: Rebecca Scott; her daughter-in-law: Janie (Laughlin) Knox, died January 27, 2014.

Funeral services will be conducted Friday, July 18, 2014, at 11:00 am, by Rev. Ron Lee, at the Haskell & Morrison Funeral Home, 208 Ferry Street Vevay, Indiana 47043.

Interment will follow in the Vevay Cemetery, Vevay, Indiana.

Memorial contributions may be made to Switzerland County Baptist Church. Cards are available at the funeral home.

God’s Bright Treasures Ministry is collecting 7,500 pairs of shoes to raise funds for our center, to help those in need and to keep shoes from going into the landfills. We are asking for the community’s help to accomplish this. We have already collected 2,600 pairs so far! God’s Bright Treasures is a non-profit child care facility in Bright, Indiana. We have a shoe collection box at the business of Quality Auto Mart at 7307 St. Rd. 46 E., Batesville, IN 47041 or they can bring their shoes to our location at 25365 State Line Road, Bright, IN 47025. Please clean out your unwanted, gently worn, used shoes and donate them. Efforts to help ensure a sufficient blood supply for patients during the holiday season are underway. Patients don’t get a holiday from needing donated blood! How to donate blood Simply download the American Red Cross Blood Donor App, visit redcrossblood.org or call 1-800-RED CROSS (1-800-733-2767) to make an appointment or for more information. All blood types are needed to ensure a reliable supply for patients. A blood donor card or driver’s license or two other forms of identification are required at check-in. Individuals who are 17 years of age (16 with parental consent in some states), weigh at least 110 pounds and are in generally good health may be eligible to donate blood.
