Mary Alice Gaudin

Mrs. Mary Alice (Bumen) Gaudin, age 90, of Vevay, Indiana, entered this life on September 6, 1925, in Indianapolis, Indiana, the daughter of the late, August and Helen (Ramseyer) Bumen. She was raised in Vevay, Indiana where she was a 1942 graduate of Vevay High School. Mary Alice was united in marriage on May 13, 1948, in Madison, Indiana, to the late, Raymond C. Gaudin and to this union arrived four sons, Bernie, Joe, Rick and Jim to bless their home. Mary Alice and Raymond shared 54 years of marriage together until Raymond passed away on October 11, 2002. Mary Alice was a former employee for Sullivan’s Pharmacy in Vevay, Indiana. She was later employed as a secretary for Gretchen Cole Attorney-At-Law in Vevay, Indiana. She was also formerly employed for Charlestown Ammunition Plant in Charlestown, Indiana. In August of 1965, Mary Alice and Raymond moved to Shelbyville, Indiana to be closer to Raymond’s work. In 1989, Mary Alice and Raymond moved back to the Vevay community where she resided until her passing. She was a member of the Most Sorrowful Mother of God Catholic Church in Vevay, Indiana. She was also a member of the Vevay American Legion Post #185 Ladies Auxiliary, Vevay VFW Post #5396 Ladies Auxiliary and the Tapps Ridge Home Economics Club in Vevay, Indiana. Mary Alice enjoyed traveling and playing cards, especially Euchre that was held at the Jack Sullivan Senior Citizen Center in Vevay, Indiana. Mary Alice passed away at 10:56 pm, Saturday, August 27, 2016, at the Swiss Villa Nursing & Rehabilitation Center in Vevay, Indiana.

Mary Alice will be dearly missed by her sons: Bernie Gaudin and his wife: Joanne of Vevay, IN, Joe Gaudin, Sr. and his wife: Kathy of Shelbyville, IN, Rick Gaudin and his wife: Debbie of Shelbyville, IN and Jim Gaudin and his wife: Linda of Shelbyville, IN; her grandchildren: Joey, Scott, Casey, Matthew, Adam, Jeff, Jessica, Shane and Amber; her great-grandchildren: Vinnie, Sophie, Desmond and Meara; her great-great-grandchild: Ethan and her special cousins: Jean O’Day Adkins of Versailles, IN and Mary Wiley of Vevay, IN.

She was preceded in death by her parents: August and Helen (Ramseyer) Bumen; her husband: Raymond C. Gaudin, died October 11, 2002 and her nephew: Bob Gaudin, died February 12, 2000.

Funeral Mass will be conducted Wednesday, August 31, 2016, at 11:00 am, by Father Christopher Craig, at the Most Sorrowful Mother of God Catholic Church, North Ferry Street Vevay, Indiana.

Interment will follow in the Vevay Cemetery, Vevay, Indiana.
