Mrs. Gladys (Hugeback) Turner, age 96, of Vevay, Indiana, Gladys entered this life on October 29, 1919, in Madison, Indiana, the daughter of the late, Benjamin John and Margaret (Bott) Hugeback. Gladys was a 1938 graduate of Madison High School in Madison, Indiana. Gladys was united in marriage on December 24, 1949, to the late, Wilfred S. Turner and to this union arrived two daughters, Sandra and Carolyn to bless their home. Wilfred and Gladys shared nearly 39 years of marriage together until he passed away on July 9, 1988. Gladys was employed at the Hillside Hotel in Madison, Indiana for 13 years. She was a member of the Saint Peter Lutheran Church in Bear Branch, Indiana. Gladys was a wonderful homemaker and enjoyed farming with her husband. Gladys passed away at 5:15 am, Friday, May 27, 2016, at the Swiss Villa Nursing & Rehabilitation Center in Vevay, Indiana.
Gladys will be dearly missed by her several nieces & nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents: Benjamin John and Margaret (Bott) Hugeback; her husband: Wilfred S. Turner, died July 9, 1988; her daughters: Sandra Kay Turner, died in 1956 and Carolyn A. Turner, died August 31, 2011; her sister: Margaret B. Barnes and her brothers: Bernard and Harold “Bud” Hugeback.
Funeral services will be conducted Tuesday, May 31, 2016, at 11:00 am, by Pastor Pamela Thiede, at the Haskell & Morrison Funeral Home, 208 Ferry Street Vevay, Indiana 47043.
Interment will follow in the Vevay Cemetery, Vevay, Indiana.
