Mr. Marvin G. Covington, Jr.

Mr. Marvin Gerald Covington, Jr. , age 57, of Hanover, Indiana, Marvin entered this life on January 11, 1960, in Madison, Indiana, the loving son of the late, Marvin Gerald, Sr. and Marjorie Rose (Little) Covington. He was a 1978 graduate of the Switzerland County High School. He attended college at Indiana State and the University of Kentucky. He moved to Anaheim, California to open a store for Domino’s Pizza. He ended his career owning and managing a Domin’s in Oxford, Ohio. Due to illness he sold this store in 2011. He was a lifelong Indiana University and Cincinnati Reds fan. He attended many Reds games with his family and friends. During his free time he traveled to baseball parks across the country, visiting 47 states in his travels. He was a member of the Sons of the Vevay American Legion Post #185. Marvin passed away at 12:55 a.m., Friday, May 19, 2017, at the King’s Daughters’ Hospital in Madison, Indiana.

Marvin will be dearly missed by his sisters: Mary Johnson and her husband: Steve of Vevay, IN, Peggy Hammons of Madison, IN, Becky McGlinchey and her husband: Ron of Gulfport, MS and Dorothea Swan and her husband: Jim of Union, KY; his brother: Ron Covington and his wife: Renea of Elkhart, IN and his numerous nieces, nephews and good friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents: Marvin G. Covington, Sr. and Louise Covington and Marjorie Rose (Little) Covington; his maternal grandparents: Herbert and Leona (Ryker) Little; his paternal grandparents: Broadus Covington and Dorothea Stewart.

Funeral services will be conducted Wednesday, May 24, 2017, at 11:00 am, by Rev. Mike Jones and Rev. Wayne Daugherty, at the Haskell & Morrison Funeral Home, 208 Ferry Street Vevay, Indiana 47043.

Interment will follow in the Vevay Cemetery, Vevay, Indiana.
