Mr. Frank E. “Ernie” Schulz, Jr., age 82, of Vevay, Indiana, entered this life on August 1, 1931, in Cincinnati, Ohio, the loving son of the late, Frank Ernest & Marie (Williams) Schulz. He was raised in Cincinnati, Ohio, where he was a graduate of Western Hills High School, where he was an avid basketball player. Ernie was united in marriage on July 7, 1950, to the love of his life, Joan B. Nerenberg & to this union arrived two sons to bless their home. Ernie & Joan shared 61 years of marriage together until Joan passed away on July 20, 2011. He served as Fire Lieutenant with the Cincinnati Fire Department, for 31 years. Ernie resided in the Switzerland County Community on Tapps Ridge, since 1983. He enjoyed farming & being with his beloved wife, Joan until her passing. Ernie was a member of the Kilwinning Lodge F&AM No. 356 in Cincinnati, Ohio. Ernie was a devoted husband, loving dad & grandpa. Ernie died at 1:25 am, Tuesday, July 22, 2014, at the Swiss Villa Nursing & Rehabilitation Center in Vevay, Indiana.

Ernie will be missed by his two sons: Frank E. Schulz, III. & his wife: Dori of Cincinnati, OH, Brett Schulz & his wife: Nancy of Dayton, OH; his grandchildren: Brett Schulz, Jr. & his wife: Patricia, Timothy Schulz, Amanda Hyatt & her husband: Joe, Eric Smith & Ginger York.

He was preceded in death by his parents: Frank Ernest & Marie (Williams) Schulz; his loving wife of 61 years: Joan B. (Nerenberg) Schulz; his granddaughter: Mary York.
