Mr. Dahl Webster Hoss

Mr. Dahl Webster Hoss, age 82, of Bennington, Indiana, formerly of Memphis, Tennessee, entered this life on April 25, 1931, in Cabery, Illinois, the son of the late, Charles Carter & Mildred Elaine (Webster) Hoss. He was raised in Cabery, Illinois & was a 1949 graduate of Kempton High School in Kempton, Illinois. He studied business at UT in Memphis, Tennessee for 2 1/2 years. Dahl was united in marriage on May 3, 1953, in Memphis, Tennessee, to Elizabeth Farmer & to this union arrived a daughter & a son to bless their home. Dahl & Elizabeth shared nearly 61 years of marriage together until his death. He retired in August of 2010 as a Salesman for AutoZone in Memphis, Tennessee, after 20 years of service. He was employed in Sales & Promotions for Capital Record in Memphis, Tennessee, for 17 years. Dahl owned & operated a fundraising company in Arkansas & a fiberglass company in Texas. Dahl & Elizabeth resided in the East Enterprise Community for the past 3 years. He was a member of the Central Church in Germantown, Tennessee. Dahl will be remembered for his love of golfing & barbecuing. Dahl died at 6:02 pm, Thursday, March 13, 2014, at his residence in Bennington, Indiana.

Dahl will be missed by his loving wife of nearly 61 years: Elizabeth (Farmer) Hoss of Bennington, IN; his daughter: Nancy Elaine Newport of Houston, TX; his grandchildren: Chris Newport of Portland, OR, Brandon Newport of Montgomery, TX, Jason Hoss of Memphis, TN, Shane Hoss of Boston, MA, Libby Brown of Cardova, TN; his 2-great-granddaughters; his daughter-in-law: Maribell Hoss of Collierville, TN; his sister: Betty Marshner of Wyandotte, MI; his several nieces, nephews, great-nieces & great-nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents: Charles Carter & Mildred Elaine (Webster) Hoss; his son: Charles Milton Hoss, died in 1993; his brothers: Marion Hoss, Sam Hoss & Robert Hoss; his sisters: Dorothy Hunt & Doris Condon.

Private services will be held at a later date.

Memorial contributions may be made to American Cancer Society. Cards are available at the funeral home.

We will provide a light lunch, at no cost, while discussing how we are serving the abused and neglected children in Jefferson and Ripley counties.
