More Rain In The Area This Afternoon

The work week begins with a rainy start as showers are moving through the region through Tuesday.

According to National Weather Service forecasters, rain and thunderstorms are likely this afternoon with more precipitation in the forecast overnight.

Another round of moderate to heavy rain is possible which could lead to minor flooding problems on local roads. Also, the storms have potential to become severe this afternoon with the main threat being large hail and damaging winds.

Temperatures will reach the mid-50’s through Wednesday with 70 degree weather possible Thursday. The extended forecast reveals more rain Thursday night and into Friday.

Hopewell Baptist Church is hosting a 7-week intensive study for teenagers ages 13 – 18 over the issues that they are facing such as cutting, drinking, drugs, effects of divorce, and suicide. These discussions will take place every Sunday starting January 17 through March 6 from 6 – 8 pm.
