Messer, Bennett on Shortlist for Education Secretary

WASHINGTON, DC — Different names are starting to come up for potential members of Trump’s administration, and 2 Indiana political veteran’s are possibilities for Secretary of Education.

National education policy watchers say former Indiana Superintendent of Public Education Tony Bennett and US Representative Luke Messer are possible candidates.

Messer is a member of the House Education and Workforce Committee, and is a strong advocate for school choice, and has called for federal poverty aid to schools to be used for choice programs like charters and vouchers.
