Mary Margaret Bischoff, age 77 of St. Leon, IN passed away Wednesday, January 15, 2014 at her home. Born February 15, 1936 in Franklin Co., IN, she was the daughter of James A. & Avanelle (Hart) Schoonover. Mary graduated from Whitewater High School in 1955.
On June 28, 1958 she married Ervin Bischoff at St. John the Baptist and he preceded her in death on April 23, 2002. She retired from US Shoe. Mary liked pitching horseshoes and was the first woman to win the horseshoe tournament at the Dearborn Co. Fair in 1964. She liked to read and was always reading something. She liked to go to auctions and spent many weekends at the Lutz Auction Barn. Mary was an avid softball player and loved the Cincinnati Reds. Her & her husband Ervin made homemade wine every fall. With all of that, Mary was a simple woman, taking good care of her family.
Mary is survived by her sons Dave (Kathy) Bischoff of St. Leon, IN; Andy (Tammy) Bischoff of St. Leon, IN & Tim (Sherrie) Bischoff of Harrison, OH. She will also be missed by her grandsons Dan, Christopher, Alex & Nick; great granddaughters Hailey & Hannah and sisters June Allen of Milan, IN; Esther Ruth Taylor of St. Leon, IN & Mildred A. Meshew of Elizabethtown, KY. In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by her brothers James F., Lewis H., Albert J., Paul M. and James A. Schoonover.
Visitation will be Saturday, January 18, 2014 from 12:30pm until time of services at 3:30pm at Jackman Kercheval Meyers Funeral Home, Harrison, OH with Rev. Dr. Harold Shackelford officiating.
