Marvin Keith (Mooch) Graves, age 60 of Osgood, IN passed away on Friday, January 3, 2014 at his home.  The son of Marvin & Ruth (McIntosh) Graves was born on April 6, 1953 in Greensburg, IN.

Marvin married Marchell Ann Vierling on February 5, 1999 at St. Louis Church in Batesville, IN.  Marvin was a member of the New Marion Baptist Church.  He enjoyed being outdoors, reading, listening to music and feeding the birds.  His wife said he had a big heart and would do anything for anybody.  Marvin loved his grandchildren and especially loved being with his family.

He is survived by his loving wife, Marchell Ann, daughter Crystal Graves and her fiancee Greg Shafer and daughter Anita Hooten and her fiancee William Feldman along with his grandchildren, Olivia, Patrick and Payton Howard and his siblings Dale Graves, Cynthia (Kenny) Beeman, Sherry Denton and Robin Beeman.    In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his brother Scott Graves.

Friends may call on the family Wednesday, January 8, 2014 from 12-2pm followed by memorial service at 2pm all at Meyers Funeral Home 1150 State Rd. 46E. Batesville, IN 47006 with friend Dan Meisberger and Fr. Shaun Whittington officiating.  Ashes will be buried immediately following in St. Louis Catholic Cemetery in Batesville, IN.

Memorials may be given to Margaret Mary Hospice.

St. Louis Catholic Church is having their Mock Turtle Soup Sale! Monday, September 15- noon-6:30 p.m. Tuesday, September 16- 8 a.m.-8 p.m. Wednesday, September 17-Friday, September 19- 8 a.m.-6:30 p.m. Sunday, September 21- during the annual St. Louis Church Festival, theMock Turtle Soup will be available for sale until it’s gone. Please enter through the Activity Center doors only! The soup will also be available through the week at Schmidt’s Bakery during their normal business hours. If you have any empty quart, half-gallon, or gallon jars you can spare (or canning lids and/or rings), you can bring them to the SLS Activity Center or Schmidt’s Bakery, as jars and lids are still needed to bottle the soup throughout the week.

Friends of Batesville Memorial Public Library is having their used book and media sale on Sept. 18-20, Thurs-Sat. from 9 a.m.- 5 p.m. at the Library Annex on 10 W. Boehringer St.  Prices range from 25 cents to $1.  Special sale is $2 per bag on Saturday at 3 p.m. Over 8,000 books are available.
