Marjorie R. Ryle, 87, of Aurora, Indiana, passed away Monday, February 8, 2016.

She was born Friday, June 15, 1928 in Rising Sun, Indiana, daughter of the late Ralph Baxter and the late Ruby Fleming Baxter

Marjorie worked as a medical secretary for Dr. Baker and Dr. Bailey, retiring after more than 10 years of service. She previously worked at Stedman’s foundry as a secretary, and worked 37 years at Ullrich’s Drug store as a cosmetician, hearing aid specialist, and the best chocolate soda maker.

She was a member of the First Presbyterian Church for over 50 years, where she sang in the choir, and could often be heard giving readings. Her faith was a very important part of her life.

Marjorie graduated from Aurora High School where she was a cheerleader. She was proud to be a “Cochran Kid”, and was Aurora’s biggest champion. She referred to it as being by the beautiful Ohio River. She loved being involved with the history of Aurora.

She was an excellent baker and was well known for her brownies. Marjorie was a voracious reader, and loved IU basketball. Most of all, Marjorie loved to spend time with family, especially her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Surviving are Children, Mary Ann (Dennis) Ryle Sheets of Massillon, OH; John (Lynn) Ryle of Aurora, In; Grandchildren, Kitty Sheets, Nicholas (fiancé Rebecca) Sheets, Molly Ryle, Becky (Johnnie) Cunningham, Jacob (Sarah) Ryle, Hannah (Marcus) Thayer; and 14 Great-Grandchildren

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Robert A. Ryle; brother Ralph “Buddy” Baxter; sister, Rosalie Berkley.

Friends will be received 5:00 – 8:00 PM, Thursday, February 11, 2016 at the Rullman Hunger Funeral Home, Aurora, Indiana.

Services will be held at First Presbyterian Church, 215 Fourth Street, Aurora, Friday at 11:00am.

Interment will follow in the River View Cemetery, Aurora, IN 47001.
