Davis.2jpgMarietta A. Witte/Davis, 97, of Lawrenceburg, IN, passed away Tuesday, May 6, 2014.

She was born Wednesday, April 11, 1917 in Lawrenceburg, Indiana, Daughter of the late Edward Hoffman and the late Mary Deffner Hoffman.

Marietta worked in the office for Seagram’s Distillery, for many years.

She was a member of St. Lawrence Catholic Church. She enjoyed word search puzzles, she would work them endlessly. Marietta also enjoyed gardening with her husband. After her retirement from Seagrams, she moved to Florida, while living in Florida she joined the Fun Chorus. Her family was her greatest joy.

Surviving are Daughters, Paulanna Jordan of Lawrenceburg, IN, and Lorna Pelcha & (Greg Pelcha) of Portland, OR; 9 grandchildren, 9 great grandchildren & 17 step grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Sylverious “Sorvie” Davis as well as her first husband, Harold Witte; son, Frank Witte, daughter, Haroletta Lynn, grandson, Ronald Lynn and Stepsons Carl O. Witte & Robert L. Witte.

Friends will be received Friday May 9, 2014 from 9:00 – 10:45 am at Rullman Hunger Funeral Home, Aurora, Indiana.

Mass of Christian Burial will be held at St. Mary’s Catholic Church, Aurora, Indiana at 11:00 am with Father Stephen Donahue officiating.

Interment will follow in the River View Cemetery, Aurora, Indiana.
