Margarette J. Green, 79, of Milan, Indiana, passed away Friday, September 20, 2013 at Margaret Mary Community Hospital in Batesville.

She was born March 18, 1934 in Osgood, Indiana to Everett McCabe and Ethel Gulley McCabe.  She worked as a cook at Townhouse Restaurant in Aurora and was a homemaker.  She loved bingo, reading and working puzzles.

Survivors include children; Georgia (Dennis) Abdon of Lawrenceburg, Jimmy (Glenda) Dryden of Manchester, May (Dennis) Thomas of Sunman, Frank Green of Milan, Loretta Wilson of Milan, SJon Green of Milan, and Donnie Green of Milan; 8 grandchildren, 24 great – grandchildren; 3 great, great – grandchildren; sisters, Veda Boggs of Aurora and Barb Hamilton of Lawrenceburg; and brother, Jimmy McCabe of Sunman.  Besides her parents, and husband Wilbur Dale Green, Margarette was preceded in death by; son, Michael Allen Green; an infant grandson; brother, Charles McCabe, and sisters, Wanda Russell, and Mary McAdams.

Visitation will be Monday, September 23, 2013 from 5-7 PM at Cook Funeral Home, Sunman.  Services will begin at 7 PM.  Cremation will follow.

The parishes of St. John in Osgood, Immaculate Conception in Millhousen and St. Maurice in Napoleon will co-host a three day mission led by Fr. Jim Farrell.  The theme of the mission will be “Mercy: God’s Gift.”  Fr. Farrell is currently pastor of Pius X Parish in Indianapolis and is also Director of Our Lady of Fatima Retreat House in Indianapolis. The retreat schedule and topics will be Sunday Feb. 14 at St. John’s – “Encountering God’s Mercy in the Scriptures;” Monday Feb. 15 will be at Immaculate Conception – “Experiencing God’s Mercy in the Sacraments;” and Tuesday Feb. 16 at St. Maurice – “Carrying God’s Mercy Forward- Giving What We Have Received.” All talks will begin at 7:00 PM and will be followed by opportunities for Confession and Anointing of the Sick.  Refreshments and opportunities for fellowship will also be available in the parish halls.  Please come, bring a friend and join us for this perfect beginning to Lent.
