MADISON, Ind. – The dedication ceremony for the new Madison-Milton Bridge will be held October 1.

The $103 million bridge connects Madison, Indiana to Milton, Kentucky via U.S. 421.

Indiana Gov. Mike Pence and Kentucky Gov. Steve Beshear will be in attendance for the ceremony along with municipal leaders.

Earlier this year, the bridge was moved from temporary piers to a permanent location.

The historic bridge was replaced with a method called superstructure replacement, which involves building a new steel truss atop existing piers.

The bridge was reopened to traffic April 17.
