Local Instructors Spending Next Three Weeks In China

Eleven local educators will land in China Friday and spend the next few weeks there teaching English.

Greensburg Community Schools and Batesville Community School Corporation are sending teachers to instruct freshman college students on American culture and the English language.

The local schools are building relationships with schools in China and the trip allows for instructors to better understand education from a global view.

Greensburg teachers educating abroad this summer include Tammy Williams, director of curriculum; John Pratt, high school history teacher; Nicole Batta, high school math teacher; and Justin Tucker Sonja Linville, junior high social studies teachers.

Five Batesville Middle School teachers will be traveling abroad including Alex Davis, language arts teacher; Eric Feller, math and computer teacher; Karen Salvitti, 6th grade teacher; Lisa Horn, 6th grade teacher; and Grace Kontour, art teacher.

Batesville Schools Director of Student Learning Melisa Burton is also making the trip.
