A native of Sunman, Indiana, he was born December 4, 1922, the son of Grover C. and Alice Hill Cash.
After graduating from Sunman High School in 1941, he served his country in the United States Army in WWII as tank commander with 749 Tank Battalion and was the recipient of the Purple Heart. He was a lifetime member of Disabled American Veterans. After retirement, as a machinist, he moved to Winter Haven, Fl. in 1987. He had an adventurous spirit. When his sons were growing up he volunteered and was active in Boy Scouts. He loved spending time with his family, reading, and reciting poetry, the local YMCA activities and traveling. His mission trips to Haiti, Honduras, and Ecuador were most rewarding. He was an active member of the First Church of God in Tampa, Fl. and attended First Church of God, Winter Haven, Fl. prior to moving to Valrico.
Mr. Cash was preceded in death by his parents, three brothers; Elzie, Leo, and Wallace Cash, grandson Dwayne Snyder, and first wife Ethel Leek Cash.
He is survived by his wife of 26 years Laura Wilson Cash, sons; Lester E. (Janet) Cash Jr., William M. (Edna) Snyder, daughter Agatha (Mervin) Lawrence, step children; Darrell McDonald, Holly (Tom) Myers, brother Irvin (Joan) Cash, eight grandchildren; Michael (Jenny) Cash, Wendy Earnshaw, Jonathon (Bobbie) Lawrence, Troy (Beth) Snyder, Rodney (Stacy) Snyder, Jessica Snyder, Bradley Myers and Brett Myers, ten great grandchildren, two sister in laws Mary Cash, and Dena Cash, several nieces and nephews.
The family will receive guests on Saturday May 10, 2014 at Cook Funeral Home 107 Vine Street Sunman, Indiana 47041 from 10am-11:30am, with a Funeral service to follow at 11:30am. Interment will be held at St. Paul Cemetery.
Pallbearers will be grandsons; Michael Cash, Jonathon Lawrence, Troy Snyder, Rodney Snyder, Bradley Myers and Brett Myers.

Deepest appreciation to family and friends for their expressions of love and support while he battled cancer. Spring Lake Rehab Center, Winter Haven, and Good Shepard Hospice provided wonderful care.
