Houston, Carl 001

Leland Carl Houston II of Sunman, Indiana passed away Thursday, February 27, 2014 in Lawrenceburg, IN at 49 years old.  He was born on March 25, 1964 the son of Leland Carl and Frances (Bennett) Houston in Cincinnati, Ohio.

He was a graduate of South Dearborn High School and a member of the Milan Lodge F&AM.  Lee, as he was known to family and friends, never met a stranger and always remembered everyone he met.  He was the genuine article–a good person.  A person, who was strong, was always making people laugh and who made everybody happy. He was the best husband, son, brother and step dad.

He enjoyed being outside, especially at Indian Lakes, where he spent much of the time with his wife Barb and family.

He spent the last 4 years with Barb (Koch) Spurlock Houston, the love of his life; they were married on February 29, 2012.  These were the happiest years of his short life. From his nephew Michael, “We will love and miss him not because he did great things but because he was a great person.”

Lee is survived by his wife Barb Houston, Father and Step Mother Leland Carl and Claudia Houston, sister Jody Haag, and his step-children C.J. Spurlock, Rich Spurlock & Nichole Spurlock along with his nephew Michael Houston Farrell and niece Catie Farrell.

Friends may call on Wednesday, March 5, 2014 from 4-6 pm followed by a memorial service at 6pm all at Meyers Funeral Home, Batesville, IN.

Memorials may be made to help the family with funeral expenses c/o the funeral home.
