Lawrence Albert “Larry” Parnell

Mr. Lawrence Albert “Larry” Parnell, age 69, of East Enterprise, Indiana entered this life on January 24,1945, in Cincinnati, Ohio, the son of the late Albert Edward & Bertha May (Montgomery) Parnell, both whom preceded him in death. Larry was raised in the Cincinnati, Ohio & attended Taylor High School in North Bend, OH. On November 8, 1976, Larry was united in marriage to Diana Marie Crosby in Newport, Kentucky, & they shared nearly 38 years of marriage together until his death. After spending much of his early life in Cincinnati, Larry moved to Switzerland County, Indiana, in 1986. Early in Larry’s career he was a Self Employed Concrete Finisher & was later employed with the Town of Vevay, working in maintenance for the Paul Ogle Riverfront Park & the Vevay Cemetery. Larry enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren & hanging out with his “Best Friend” & cousin, Marvin Mays, gardening & working outside. Larry passed away at 7:06 am, Tuesday, March 18, 2014 at his residence in East Enterprise, Indiana.

Larry will be lovingly remembered by his wife of nearly 38 years: Diana Marie (Crosby) Parnell of East Enterprise, IN;  his sons: Larry B. Parnell of Cleves, OH; Nick E. Parnell & wife Lisa of Bright, IN; Anthony R. Parnell & wife: Linda of West Harrison, OH; Donald J. Sears & wife: Jessie of Cleves, OH; his daughters: Melissa D. Gray & husband: Bill of Cleves, OH; Heather M. Hayes of Vevay, IN; Milynda K. Queen & husband: Josh of East Enterprise, IN; hi grandchildren: Angel, Cody, Rebecca, Rachel, Sammy, Krista, Vanessa, Emily, Destini, Corbin, Shawn, Nathan, Kollin, Leigh, Tyler & Hannah; his great-grandchildren: Erika, Brailen, & Austin; his sisters: Patricia A. Parnell of West Harrison, OH; Deborah K. Cox of Bright, IN; Linda L. Phelps of Indianapolis, IN; Theresa L. Schuman of Moores Hill, IN; Darla Sue Miller of Bennington, IN; Annette M. Parnell of Lawrenceburg, IN; his brothers: Elmer R. Parnell of Cincinnati, OH; Terry L. Parnell of Harrodsburg, KY; Mitchell G. Parnell of Miamitown, OH; several nieces & nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents: Albert Edward & Bertha May (Montgomery) Parnell.

Funeral services will be conducted Friday, March 21, 2014, at 1:00 pm, by Bro. Anthony Wilks, at the Haskell & Morrison Funeral Home, 208 Ferry Street Vevay, Indiana 47043.  Interment will follow in the Vevay Cemetery, Vevay, Indiana

Margaret Mary Health has partnered with Hoxworth BloodCenter, University of  Cincinnati to host a Community Blood Drive on Wednesday, July 23, 2014 from 8:00am-11:00am & 12:15pm-2:00pm.  The Hoxworth Donor Bus will parked on the lot, located at 312 Mitchell Ave., in Batesville, IN.   To schedule your appointment, please visit www.hoxworth.org/groups/margaretmary or call the laboratory at (812) 933-5274.  Hoxworth recognizes that blood donors’ time is valuable.  Priority will be given to donors who have scheduled an appointment.  Walk-in donors are welcome and will be seen as soon as possible.   “Local blood donors ensure that local patients at 30 area hospitals receive the lifesaving blood products they need to survive,” said Alecia Lipton, Hoxworth spokesperson.  “Community blood drives are vitally important and we hope to see a good turnout at the Margaret Mary Health blood drive.”   How to Donate: Donating blood is safe and easy.  Donors must be at least 17 years old (16 with a signed parental consent) and in good health.  Individuals must weigh at least 110 pounds and bring identification to donate.  It is recommended that donors eat a good meal and drink plenty of water within four hours before donating.   About Hoxworth: Hoxworth Blood Center, University of Cincinnati, was founded in 1938 and proudly serves 30 hospitals in 17 counties in[...]
