EC JV and Varsity volleyball traveled to South Ripley last night. Both teams came out with the win in straight sets.
Varsity won with the scores of 25-19, 25-14, and 25-14.
Set one started slow for us. I think we underestimated South Ripley’s big front row and they put us in a hole early. Our libero, Abby Wilgenbusch, is a little banged up, so she took the night off. Sophomore Catherine Gregg filled in for her so it took a little bit for the girls to adjust. Once they adjusted, it was a different ball game.
‘This team doesn’t quit and they found a way to win again. In sets two and three we stayed in control with aggressive serving and a quick offense. It was fun to watch them adjust and fight their way back. It showed their determination and drive to win. We are on the right track when it matters most!
