Lady Trojans Defeat Lady Bulldogs In Soccer

SoccerThe East Central Lady Trojans defeated The Batesville Lady Bulldogs 4-1 in Varsity Soccer action at St. Leon.

Batesville at East Central Girls Soccer (9-29)

JV – 3 EC 3

The Batesville JV Lady Bulldogs had an exciting 3-3 tie at East Central on Monday. The game went back and forth all game long with the Lady Bulldogs striking first on a goal by Katlyn Lowe. EC add two goals before the end of the first half to make it 2-1. In the second half, Audrey Weigel hit a left footed strike from 30 yards to even up the score 2-2. After another EC goal to put them up 3-2, Batesville answered again. This time, there was under a minute to play in the match and Baylee Rohlfing was able to take a pass and finish it into the side net to even the match 3-3. It was a well played game on both sides between two evenly matched teams.

Varsity Batesville 1 – EC 4

In the Varsity match, the Lady Trojans defeated the Lady Bulldogs 4-1 on East Central’s senior night. It was a back and forth match in the first half. Batesville controlled the game for the first 20 minutes, but they relaxed on a counter-attack and the EC forward was able to chip the ball over the head of Julia Hunter in goal for Batesville. They struck again on a corner kick and beat the Batesville defense to the ball to make it 2-0. Batesville didn’t back down and played the last 10 minutes of the half tough. They were able to score on a corner kick of their own to make it 2-1. Gabi Garcia recorded her first career goal off an assist from Shelby Rupp. In the second half, it was all East Central. The game became very physical and the Lady Trojans controlled the majority of the half and added 2 more goals to make the final score 4-1.

Batesville is back in action on Tuesday as they travel to Columbus North for their final regular season match. Batesville is now 9-5-1 on the season.
