The Lady Pirates Track and Field Team were Runner Up Sectional Champions behind the East Central Trojans Tuesday night in Brookville.
Despite the cool, rainy conditions, the Greensburg Girls were ready to compete and walked away with 6 Individual Sectional Championship finishes and 2 Individual Runner Up Championships.
Ashlynn Meyer dominated the hurdling events taking 1st in both the 100H and the 300H. Shelby Pake represented in the distance events as the 1600 Sectional Champion and 3200 Runner Up Champion. She broke her own school record in the track 2 mile. Throwing duo, Erin Browning & Lily Grimes, took over the weighted events. Browning won discus and was Runner Up in shot put while Grimes won Shot Put and came in 3rd in Discus.
The Comeback Kid, Arie Hampton, defended her Sectional Title after coming off of 3 weeks of nursing an injury and recovering from illness. Joining these individual Champions in advancing to Regionals will be Cami Jones in the 1600 & 800 and Mary West in the 100H.
