Lady Bulldogs Win Regular Season Game

Scoreboard operators were busy on Thursday as the Batesville Bulldogs Varsity and Lawrenceburg combined for 22 runs. Batesville Bulldogs Varsity eventually won the offensive battle 12-10 in seven innings.

There were 25 hits, including seven extra base hits in the game.

The game was back-and-forth heading into the sixth, with 11 lead changes.

The Batesville Bulldogs Varsity finally managed to grab the lead after a strong sixth inning. The Batesville Bulldogs Varsity went up for good on a two-run double by Katie Thomas off #9, scoring Madison Meehan andHannah Wintz.

 

Katie racked up three RBIs on four hits for the Batesville Bulldogs Varsity.
Katie got the win for the Batesville Bulldogs Varsity despite allowing 10 runs over seven innings. Katie struck out four, walked 12 and gave up eight hits.

#9 took the loss for Lawrenceburg. She allowed 12 runs in six innings, walked two and struck out nine.

The bottom of the second saw the Batesville Bulldogs Varsity take an early lead, 1-0. After Carissa Werner doubled, the Batesville Bulldogs Varsity kept the pressure on Lawrenceburg pitching, as Madison singled.

After a quick strike from Lawrenceburg, the Batesville Bulldogs Varsity responded with three runs in the third. The Batesville Bulldogs Varsity scored on a two-run double by Hannah Putnam and an RBI double by Alyssa Dudley.

It didn’t take long for the Batesville Bulldogs Varsity to respond as they scored four runs of their own in the fourth. The Batesville Bulldogs Varsity scored on an RBI single by Katie, an RBI single by Rebecca Roell, an error, and an RBI single by Alyssa.

The Batesville Bulldogs Varsity never surrendered the lead after the sixth inning. The runs piled on thanks to an RBI double by Madison.
