Lady Bulldogs Top Lady Cardinals In Middle School Hoops

Basketball HoopsThe 7th Grade BMS Lady Dogs notched a convincing win over crosstown rival St. Louis. The score was 29-12.

The team had balanced scoring and played unselfishly throughout the game. Carlie Werner led the team with 8 points, while Liz Heidlage and Macy Prickel scored 6 points each. Abby Westerfeld and Ellie Cassidy chipped in with 4 and 3 points respectively. Anna Bauer hit a bucket to round out the scoring.

The win improves the team’s record to 6-1.

The next game is vs. Benjamin Rush at home on Thursday. Come cheer them on in a big conference match-up!

The BMS 8th Grade Girls’ Basketball team pulled out a victory in a very hard fought game against St. Louis by a score of 23 to 17.

After trailing at half, the dogs held the Cardinals scoreless in the third quarter but only scored 4 points to pull even (12 to 12) heading into the final quarter. The Dogs defense held and their offense came alive scoring 11 points to finish out the win. Kendall Dickman and Ellie Waechter each hit big 3 point baskets in the quarter.

Great defense was played by a trio of Bulldog players (Stephanie Nobbe, Tori Kurtz, and Kelsey Shupe) to lead the defensive effort. Dickman led the team in scoring with 9 points. Caitlyn Broering scored 6 points (4 of which were in the final quarter.) Ellie Waechter scored 5 points. Hattie Westerfeld had 7 blocks and pulled down 5 rebounds.
