Lady Bulldogs Defeat Lady Cardinals In SEI Tourney

Basketball HoopsThe BMS 7th Grade Lady Dogs’ basketball team defeated St. Louis in the first round of the Southeastern Indiana Tourney by the score 38-13.

There were 6 different players who scored for the team. Liz Heidlage set the tone offensively with 10 points. Ellie Cassidy and Macy Prickel each netted 8 points in the winning effort. Carlie Werner, 6, Abigail Westerfeld, 4, and Anna Bauer, 2, rounded out the scoring.

The team will travel to Milan to face South Ripley in the second round at 5:00. Good luck, ladies! The win improves the team’s record to 8-4 on the season.

The BMS 8th grade lady Bulldogs advance to round 2 of the SEI tourney by defeating St. Louis 27 to 15.
BMS/St. Louis played close throughout the first half with BMS holding a 9 to 5 lead. The Bulldogs continued their strong defensive play while becoming more effective on the offense end to pull away.
Hattie Westerfeld led all scorers with 11 points. Kendall Dickman contributed 8 points connecting on two 3 pointers. Ellie Waechter added 4 points. Stephanie Nobbe played a strong defensive game as Carly Fitzpatrick, Kelsey Shupe, and Hanna Slayback contributed quality minutes for the Bulldogs.

St. Louis 8th grade girls basketball team lost the opening round
of the SEI tournament to Batesville 27 to 15.
Kate Burkhart, Hanna Hurm, Harlee Masavage, Hailey Mohr, Kate Poltrack, Sarah Preston, and Avery Roell made up this years St. Louis Cardinals 8th grade basketball team.
