The Batesville girls varsity tennis team defeated East Central 5-0 to start their season at 1-0 (1-0 EIAC).
#1 Singles- Julia Hunter defeated Lizzy Weigel 6-1, 6-3.
#2 Singles- Alana Pinckley defeated Lindsay Bischoff 6-4, 6-4.
#3 Singles- Rachael Rose defeated Meredith Struewing 6-2, 6-2.
#1 Doubles- Macy Simon and Karsen Worthington defeated Morgan Webber/Gwen Kern 4-6, 6-4, 6-4.
#2 Doubles- Audrey Weighed and Anna Kick defeated Kelly Blusher and Maldive Davidson 6-3, 6-1.
In JV action, Batesville defeated EC 6-1. In singles, Jenna Harmeyer and Mary Elkins were winners. In doubles, the teams of Baylee Rohlfing & Maggie Schwettman (2 matches), Corinne Stone & Sophie Brown, and Grace Heppner & Mary Elkins were all victorious.
Batesville will play at Franklin County on Thursday at 4:30 PM.
