Mrs. LaDonna J. “Donna” (Bladen) Brady, age 70, of Patriot, Indiana, entered this life on February 25, 1943, the daughter of the late, Wilbur Carroll Bladen & Virginia Gladys (Brown) Bladen Burton. She was raised in Vevay, Indiana, where she attended high school. Donna was united in marriage on December 20, 1958, in Ghent, Kentucky, to Robert Joseph “Joe” Brady & to this union arrived 4 daughters to bless their home. Donna & Joe shared nearly 56 years of marriage together until her death. Donna was employed for Starbucks at Belterra Casino Resort & Spa in Belterra, Indiana, for 4 years. She was employed for 5 years at the Citgo Convenient Store in Markland, Indiana. Donna was a wonderful homemaker & helping her husband with the family farm. Donna enjoyed cooking dinner every Sunday for her family. Donna will be remembered for her love of jigsaw puzzles, gardening, quilting, reading, her dog Peggy, her grandkids & great-grandkids. Donna died at 9:23 am, Thursday, January 23, 2014, at the King’s Daughters’ Hospital in Madison, Indiana.

Donna will be missed by her husband : Robert Joseph “Joe” Brady of Patriot, IN; her daughters: Linda D. Smith of Patriot, IN, Glenda Sue Vansickle & her husband: Jeff of Patriot, IN, Brenda Jo Bethel & her husband: Dickie of Sanders, KY, Patricia Lynn Kappes & her husband: Ben of Patriot, IN; her dog: Peggy; her grandchildren: Kassi, Travis, Joey, Melissa, Trenton, Alicia, Raylinn & Taylor; her great-grandchildren: Kobe, Kole, Cade, Landen, Dalen, Zoey, Zayden, Zale, Maizlee & Jacob; her sisters: Joyce Thornton & her husband: Pat of Madison, IN, Marilyn Christman of Madison, IN; her brother: Wilbur Bladen of Madison, IN; her several nieces & nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents: Wilbur Carroll Bladen & Virginia Gladys (Brown) Bladen Burton; her sister: Rickie Heck; her half brother: James Burton.

Funeral services will be conducted Tuesday, January 28, 2014, at 11:00 am, by Rev. Mike Jones & Pastor Charlie Hill, at the Haskell & Morrison Funeral Home, 208 Ferry Street Vevay, Indiana 47043.  Interment will follow in the Concord Cemetery, Patriot, Indiana.

Friends may call 4:00 pm – 8:00 pm, Monday, January 27, 2014, at the Haskell & Morrison Funeral Home 208 Ferry Street Vevay, Indiana 47043.

Memorial contributions may be made to Concord Cemetery or Concord Community Church. Cards are available at the funeral home.

God’s Bright Treasures Ministry is collecting 7,500 pairs of shoes to raise funds for our center, to help those in need and to keep shoes from going into the landfills. We are asking for the community’s help to accomplish this. We have already collected 2,600 pairs so far! God’s Bright Treasures is a non-profit child care facility in Bright, Indiana. Efforts to help ensure a sufficient blood supply for patients during the holiday season are underway. Patients don’t get a holiday from needing donated blood! How to donate blood Simply download the American Red Cross Blood Donor App, visit redcrossblood.org or call 1-800-RED CROSS (1-800-733-2767) to make an appointment or for more information. All blood types are needed to ensure a reliable supply for patients. A blood donor card or driver’s license or two other forms of identification are required at check-in. Individuals who are 17 years of age (16 with parental consent in some states), weigh at least 110 pounds and are in generally good health may be eligible to donate blood.
