Judith “Judy” Downey Miller, 72, of Lawrenceburg, Indiana, passed away peacefully at home surrounded by her family on August 31, 2016.
She was born January, 10, 1944 in Milan, IN, to the late Homer and Georgie Downey.
Judy was a former member of the Lawrenceburg American Legion Auxiliary. She enjoyed cooking, fishing, painting, and taking care of others.In her younger years, Judy loved to travel especially the trips to the ocean. She loved the holidays, preparing the house and meals for her family to enjoy. She especially loved Thanksgiving and Christmas. Judy was happy and content being at home with her children and grandchildren They were the light of her life.. She was a selfless person and gave continuously to family and friends. She will be sadly missed.
Surviving are children Robin Bryant of Aurora, Tina (Larry) Walters of Lawrenceburg, Kristi (Lacy) Sexton of West Harrison and Jamie Miller of Lawrenceburg, Sister; Bonnie Downey Slaughter of Sadieville, KY; grandchildren, Richella Bryant, Linsey Bryant, Christopher Bryant, Ashley Vallandingham, Corey Walters, Dusty Walters, Cassie Coley, Kyle Sexton, Courtney Hankinson and twins, Bryce and Bella Miller; several great-grandchildren, as well as several nieces and nephews.
Judy was preceded in death by her parents; Homer Downey and Georgie Downey; husband; Frederick A. “Fred” Miller, children, Daniel Bryant, Dawn Miller Bryant; siblings, Edward Downey and Penny Downey and granddaughter, Lacie Marie Sexton.
Friends will be received Tuesday, September 6, 2016 from 5:00 – 7:00 pm at the Rullman Hunger Funeral Home, Aurora, Indiana.
Services will be held at the funeral home at 7:00 pm immediately following visitation.
