Jenny Koger, 78, of Holton passed away at 2:05pm Saturday, October 15, 2016 at the Kings Daughters Hospital in Madison. She was born near Holton on July 6, 1938 the daughter of Pierce and Lura Hollon King. Survivors include two sons David Koger of Holton and Doug Koger of Anderson; one daughter Diane (Michael) Hartman of Hartland, Connecticut; 8 grandchildren Derek (Kristen) Koger, Matthew hartman, Stacie Koger, Nicholas Hartman, Joshua Koger, Danielle Koger, Lauren Hartman, and Lydia Koger; one sister Ruby (Hulbert) Brewer of Holton. She was preceded in death by her parents, her daughter Mary Elizabeth Koger, brothers Russell, Elmer, and Hargis King, and her sister Myrtle King. Mrs. Koger was a 1956 graduate of Holton High School and was voted “best personality” of her senior class. Jenny had several occupations over the years including the Delaney Wood Heel factory in Versailles, US Shoe, Muscatatuck, and she once sold Filter Queen vacuums. She had also worked as a secretary at Camp Atterbury and also at the Southeast Career Center in Versailles. From 1986 to 2000 Jenny managed the Depot Restaurant in Osgood which allowed her to meet many people and make numerous friends. Jenny was a member of the Osgood American Legion Auxiliary. Jenny and her family appreciated the love and support shown to her in her final months. Funeral services will be held on Thursday, October 20th at 11am at the Stratton-Karsteter Funeral Home in Versailles with Rev. Ty Choate of the Hopewell Baptist Church officiating. Burial will be in the Cliff Hill Cemetery in Versailles. Visitation will be Wednesday from 5pm to 7pm. Memorials may be given to the Cliff Hill Cemetery in care of the funeral home.
