James Thomas Ripps, 71 of Lawrenceburg, passed away Wednesday February 12, 2014 at Dearborn County Hospital in Lawrenceburg. James was born Tuesday July 7, 1942 in Cheyenne, WY the son of James and Mae (Lewis) Ripps.   He married Megan Ripps who survives.  James was in the Navy serving his country during the Vietnam and Korea Era.  Navy was his life. After his retirement from the Navy he enjoyed visiting several naval bases around the country. He also liked fishing, hunting and spending time with his family and grandchildren.  

James is survived by Wife: Megan Ripps of Madison, IN; Son: David Ripps of Lawrenceburg, IN; Daughters: Katharine and Susan Ripps both of Louisville, KY; Chesi (Duane) Kalfrat of Lawrenceburg, IN; Pony Ripps of Washington State.  Mother: Diana Ripps of MO; 5 Grandchildren.  James was preceded in death by two sons: Timothy and Jeremiah Ripps

    Memorial Service will be at 2PM Monday March 10, 2014 at Indiana Veterans Memorial Cemetery 1415 N. There will be a free cookout that begins at 6:00 p.m. and will continue until 8:00 p.m. at the Cedar Grove Fire Department. National Night Out is an annual community-building campaign that promotes police-community partnerships and neighborhood camaraderie to make our neighborhoods a safer, better place to live.  Neighborhoods across the nation host block parties, festivals, parades, and cookouts.
