Jail Employee Suspected Of Misconduct, Trafficking With Inmate

An employee at the Jennings County Jail is behind bars as investigators suspect foul play.

Christy Ramirez is accused of sexual relations with an inmate and providing a cellphone to inmates, the Jennings County Sheriff’s Department said.

The employee worked in the kitchen area of the jail where police believe the incidents occurred.

Ramirez is lodged in the jail and if convicted of the felony charges she could serve up to six years in prison.
