Hoosier freshman helps IU improve to 2-0

BLOOMINGTON, Ind. – Indiana picked up another win behind a strong freshman performance defeating Texas Southern 83-64 at Assembly Hall Monday.

First-year player Rob Johnson shot 8-for-13 leading all scorers with 21 points. IU junior Kevin ‘Yogi” Ferrell finished with 20 points and freshman James Blackmon continued to impress with 19 points.

IU begins the season 2-0 and the Tigers fall to 0-2.

Hoosiers have their first true test of the season against Southern Methodist University at 8 p.m. Thursday in Bloomington.
