Homecoming Week

October 9, 2013

We are in the middle of another Homecoming Week.  For most adults in the community, it is just another football game this weekend; but for the kids, it is one of the special weeks of the school year.  From the idea of building a float to finally getting it done, to the Powder Puff game, the parade, and the crowning of the Royalty, it will be quite a week.  Added to all of these festivities this year are the plans of the Education Foundation for a 12K relay race.  It will be held on Saturday, October 12, as a continuation of the Homecoming activities.  This race will be run in four 3K legs in a downtown Batesville Loop.  For all of you who run to stay fit, this will be a great way to get in your weekend run plus supporting the Education Foundation.  All students K-12 benefit from this Foundation.  This is not an Athletic Booster Activity.  Even though the Foundation is quite young, it has already gained a lot of momentum in its efforts to sustain the quality education that Batesville has become famous for.  So, if you are an athlete or just one who likes to stay fit, please come out and support the Foundation.  Heading this committee is Jeremy Raver (who just happens to be my nephew)!
