Hillenbrand Forms Partnership With Organic Produce Company

BATESVILLE – A partnership between two companies may make it easier for healthy food to be more convenient and accessible for Batesville employees.

Hillenbrand, Inc. has agreed with Green BEAN Delivery as a corporate health and wellness partner.

Green BEAN Delivery, an online home delivery service that provides organic produce and natural groceries and will serve as a new employee resource for Hillenbrand associates.

Green BEAN Delivery’s corporate health and wellness program encourages a community-based approach to health and wellness in the workplace.

On Tuesday, Green BEAN Delivery kicked off the new partnership by providing two educational seminars to employees about the importance of eating well. During the seminars, the company highlighted the value of eating organically and locally.

“At Hillenbrand, we place an important emphasis on the health and wellness of our associates,” Director of HR Global Services Julie Joerger said in a press release. ”Partnering with Green BEAN Delivery is yet another example of Hillenbrand’s commitment to providing associates with the education, options and resources they need to live a healthy lifestyle. Ultimately, this program furthers our promise to support the communities in which we work and live.”

Green BEAN Delivery was founded in Indianapolis in 2007 by husband and wife team Matt Ewer and Elizabeth Blessing. Created to make organic produce and natural groceries convenient, affordable and accessible to Midwest communities, the company is now the region’s most extensive network of farmers and artisans with organic and sustainable practices

South Decatur Elementary School has introduced a new fundraising program called My School Color Run. The My School Color Run program aims to go beyond traditional fundraising. Rather than sell goods, the program aims to engage the entire student body in a fitness initiative that aims to instill a life-long healthy way of living. On Sept. 3, at 9 a.m., the students, staff, and community of South Decatur Elementary School will walk, jog, and run their way toward a healthier life while raising funds for the PTO’s Playground Revitalization Project. The color run will be held at South Decatur Jr-Sr High School, and will be open to the public. This is an untimed fun run. Participants will pass through four color stations throughout the course and end with a massive color toss at the My Color Run Post-Race Party. Participants will be treated to refreshments, music, and fun following the run. Interested participants of all ages can register by visiting www.SouthDecaturMSCR.eventbrite.com, or by completing a paper registration form prior to the event.
