Harold May

Harold Wayne May, age 78 of Milan, Indiana passed away March 26, 2016 at St. Francis Health in Indianapolis, Indiana. He was born on June 13, 1937 in Crittenden, Kentucky. His parents were the late Charles and Sadie Palmer Whalen May. Harold married Beatrice Ellen Haggard May on January 16, 1960, and she still survives at home.
Harold worked seven years, from 1959 to 1966, at Palm Beach of Erlanger, Kentucky. After this, he began working for GE of Evendale, Ohio. He was a very dedicated and hard worker with GE. He served proudly as a supervisor, inspector and Union Steward for 28.5 years for the jet engine division. He also belonged to UAW Union aerospace at GE. After retiring in June of 1993, he was able to enjoy fishing, squirrel hunting, playing pool and being with his wife and family. Watching John Wayne movies along with other western shows, listening to music by Johnny Cash, Merle Haggard and other country artists were also favorite pastimes. His children stated their dad was a very hard worker and honest man with a lot of “Street Smarts.” He raised his children to respect him and their mother……. When he spoke, his children were to listen and not talk back !! He will be sadly missed by his family and friends.

He was preceded in death by 1 daughter, Denise Ann May; 2 sisters, Edith Laverne Zylstra and Helen May; also 3 brothers, Charles, Donald and William May.

All in one day: Wednesday, March 30, 2016, at Neal’s Funeral Home
Visitation: 1:00 pm- 3:00 pm
Funeral: 3:00 pm
Burial: Mud Pike Cemetery near Osgood, IN

Memorials: Mud Pike Cemetery or Sunman Life Squad.
