I-74 WB In West Harrison Closed After Semi Fire Wednesday *Update*

Dispatchers say the semi fire that began Wednesday afternoon is still impacting westbound traffic. The semi caught fire at the Whitewater River Bridge and fuel leaked into the river.

No word on when the scene will be cleared for normal travel as police may be rerouting traffic via S.R. 46, dispatchers say.

WEST HARRISON, Ind. – A tractor-trailer fire has led to a fuel spill and traffic delays in the westbound lanes of I-74 Wednesday afternoon.

Dearborn County dispatchers say the incident is at mile marker 168 at the Whitewater River Bridge, just miles from the Indiana and Ohio state line.

Dispatchers tell us fuel has been leaking in the river.

Both westbound lanes are closed as emergency crews work to contain the scene, dispatchers added.
