The 2014 Cystic Fibrosis Foundation’s Great Strides Walk/Run for Southeastern Indiana has raised over $50,000.
Batesville Great Strides Coordinator Linda Schomber said that 268 total walkers/runners participated at Liberty Park with the top three teams raising money were Team Jenna Rae with $10,406, Heidi’s Hotties with $5,100, and Team Cady with $4,490.
Schomber also said that last year’s Great Strides event at Batesville raised over $38,000. This year’s goal was to raise $45,000. The preliminary total raised on Sunday (5-18) was $52,718.
Olympic Medalist and Dearborn County Native, Nick Goepper, made an appearance during the event. Goepper took part of the Opening Ceremonies and stayed around after the event to sign autographs and take pictures.
