Graham, age 49 of Batesville, IN passed away Monday, February 10, 2014 at his home.  The son of Gerald & Johanne (Gartemann) Graham was born on June 9, 1964 in Spain.  He was a 1982 graduate of Milan High School and graduated from Northern Kentucky University. He worked for Cummins Inc. as a Supervisor and married Brenda Kirschner on June 9, 1996.  He served his country in the US Army and was a member of the Milan American Legion Post 235 and the Knights of Columbus.  He loved his church, St. Pius, and was on the counsel. He was also part owner of the former Cheers, in Batesville.

Doug loved giving back.  He volunteered for the Batesville Fire Dept. and the EMT.  He loved his country and was very patriotic.  He honored soldiers through his membership in the Indiana Patriot Guard.  He helped raise money for the Make-A-Wish Foundation by setting up a poker run through Cummins.  He loved Nascar and going to races with his buddies.  Doug loved riding his Harley, shooting guns with his family and friends and enjoyed working on his 61 Apache truck with his friends from Cummins.  He also loved spending time in Gatlinburg with his family and going to Purdue to visit his daughter.  Doug knew no stranger, always had a smile on his face and was always willing to help someone out.  He was a loving husband and father.  He loved his job and the people he worked with.

Doug is survived by his wife Brenda Graham and his daughter Koralyssa Graham.  He will also be missed by his sisters Debbie (Scott) Busching of Hebron, KY and Michelle Graham of Arlington, VA.

Visitation will be Friday, February 14, 2014 from 4-8pm at Meyers Funeral Home, 1150 State Road 46 E, Batesville, IN.  Mass of Christian Burial will be Saturday, February 15, 2014 at 10:00am at St. Pius Church in Sunman, IN with Father Frank Eckstein officiating.  Burial will follow at St. Pius Cemetery with military graveside rites.

Memorials are suggested to the Make-A-Wish Foundation or the Gerald & Johanne Graham Volunteer Scholarship Fund c/o the funeral home.

St. Louis Catholic Church is having their Mock Turtle Soup Sale! Monday, September 15- noon-6:30 p.m. Tuesday, September 16- 8 a.m.-8 p.m. Wednesday, September 17-Friday, September 19- 8 a.m.-6:30 p.m. Sunday, September 21- during the annual St. Louis Church Festival, theMock Turtle Soup will be available for sale until it’s gone. Please enter through the Activity Center doors only! The soup will also be available through the week at Schmidt’s Bakery during their normal business hours. If you have any empty quart, half-gallon, or gallon jars you can spare (or canning lids and/or rings), you can bring them to the SLS Activity Center or Schmidt’s Bakery, as jars and lids are still needed to bottle the soup throughout the week.

The Annual 21st Crackaway Daze Festival will be held on September 20 – 21 at the Saltcreek Township Park in New Point, Indiana (located 8 miles east of Greensburg or 6 miles west of Batesville on Hwy 46 or south 850 just off of I-74 Exit 143. Park is on left along Hwy 46). Parade at 11:00 am on Saturday. Flea market in the park (contact Rosa at 812-593-7611 or email at rosa@etczone.com). Great food for both days (roast plus more on Saturday). Our famous fried chicken with all the trimmings on Sunday, served by the New Point Kiwanis Club. Homemade ice cream by Smyrna Church. Fun for the kids and adults (bed race, antique cars and trucks and farm equipment, kettle bean soup). Entertainment, drawings (50/50 pot), hot dog stand, snow cones and much more!
