Gladys R. Burton, 69 of Osgood formerly of Elrod, passed away Monday April 7, 2014 at her residence.  Gladys was born Thursday April 5, 1945 in Heidelberg, Kentucky the daughter of Archie and Laura (Moore) Addison.  She married Melvin Woodrow Burton April 6, 1963 and he survives.  Gladys had been a CNA at the Dillsboro Manor, and was a member of the Cornerstone Baptist Church at Milan.  Gladys had a strong Christian faith, and loved going to church and spending time with her family.  She also enjoyed her flower gardens, sewing, eating out, and shopping. 

Gladys is survived by husband, Melvin “Woody” Burton, son Melvin Ray (Amy) Burton of Osgood, daughters Ruth Ann (Clark) Tyler of North Vernon and Faith Burton of Osgood, sister  Edith (Richard) Lane of Hudson, Florida, 7 grandchildren and 2 great grandchildren.  Gladys was preceded in death by her parents, daughter Kim Sue, 4 brothers and 2 sisters. 

Funeral services will be Friday April 11, 2014, 10AM at the Cornerstone Baptist Church in Milan with Pastor Rich Mosley officiating.  Burial will follow in Green Cemetery at Elrod.  Visitation will be 5-8PM Thursday April 10 at Laws-Carr-Moore Funeral Home, Milan.  Memorials may be made to the Family through the funeral home.  Laws-Carr-Moore Funeral Home, Milan entrusted with arrangements.  707 S.
