What did downtown Batesville look like 53 years ago? Residents have an opportunity to find out at the Gibson Theatre on Saturday afternoon.

The cinema will host an open house with a 2:30 p.m. showing of a documentary that was filmed in and about Batesville in 1961.

“It is a really cool movie. It is really neat to go back and see what the town looked like,” said Kim Powell, owner of the Gibson Theatre.

In addition to the appearance of the town, you may notice a relative, friend or possibly yourself.

The open house will be held from 2-4 p.m.
