Franklin County Sheriff Releases September Report

The Franklin County Sheriff Ken Murphy released a monthly report of activity for the month of September. Deputies responded to 681 calls, which is ten percent less than September 2012.

A breakdown revealed the majority of calls were for suspicious activity, burglary, traffic stops, and 9-1-1 accidental dials and hang ups.

Deputies made 28 arrests last month. The report shows 14 warrants, 3 OWI charges, and 3 burglaries. Other arrests included minor consumption, leaving the scene of an accident, and possession of a controlled substance.

There was an average of 58 prisoners housed in the Franklin County Security Center through the month of September. The maximum capacity of the jail is 75 inmates.

Sheriff Ken Murphy said, “There is an increase in car/deer accidents. Motorists should stay alert especially during early morning and late evening hours.”
