Franklin County Raising Money for Christmas Decorations

brookville-nativity-scene-12-19-jpgBROOKVILLE, Ind. — Brookville Noel was held this year without an appearance of the Nativity Scene on the courthouse lawn.

The tradition is believed to have started in the 1950s.

According to Franklin County’s Attorneys, the county needs to put non-religious Christmas items out with the Nativity Scene.

The county is currently seeking donations or a Christmas tree with ornaments and/or lights, Santa Claus, sleigh, several reindeer, snowflakes, snowmen, candy canes, nutcrackers, wreathes, general light displays, a menorah, and carolers.

Donations can be brought to the commissioner’s office at the Government Center.
