BROOKVILLE, Ind. — 20 Franklin County FFA Chapter members participated in the Area 7 Soils Career Development Event in September.
For the soils judging event, the students evaluate soil for various properties that affect crop production and home construction; they had to find the slope of the ground, determine what type of soil it is, and much more.
The top 5 Franklin County FFA members along with their individual placing (out of 135 participants) for the contest are listed:
- 40th – Ben Ball
- 51st – Isaac Selm
- 69th – Andrew Herrmann
- 72nd – Shelby Kolb
- 80th – Abrey Losekamp
The top 3 teams for Franklin County FFA placed as listed out of 36 teams:
