smithFrances L. Smith, 73, of Burlington, KY., formerly of Aurora, Indiana,  passed away Sunday, February 16, 2014 in Edgewood, KY.

She was born Friday, June 7, 1940 in Erlanger, KY, Daughter of the late Willis Bevis and the late Lonie Dunn Bevis.

Frances worked as a Merchandise Handler for GAP, retiring after over 15 years of service.

She was a member of the Aurora VFW Auxiliary, American Legion Auxiliary & Lawrenceburg Eagles Auxiliary.  Frances loved collecting Carousels, and she enjoyed interior decorating.  Frances was a kind person that loved her family, especially her grandchildren and great grandchildren.  She will be missed by all.

Surviving are Daughters, Shirley (Mike) Childress of Latonia, KY & Debbie Bittner of Hamilton, OH; Sister, Helen (Bill) Lunsford of Lawrenceburg, IN, Brothers, Willis Bevis Jr. of Lawrenceburg, Indiana and Randy (Cathy) Bevis of Owenton, KY; Grandchildren, Scott Ray Kinnett, Eric Christopher Kinnett, Ronald Leslie Kirk, James Irvin Henderson Jr., Jennifer K. Kirk & Regina Renee Kirk; 13 Great Grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her Parents & Husband:  William “Bill” Smith.

Friends will be received 5:00 – 8:00 PM, Thursday, February 20, 2014 at the Rullman Hunger Funeral Home, Aurora, Indiana.

Services will be held at the Funeral Home, Friday, at 1:00 pm with Pastor Tim Burge officiating.

Interment will follow in the Mt. Sinai Cemetery,  Aurora, IN.

The Batesville United Methodist Church, in partnership with Margaret Mary Health, will soon be offering a cancer support group whose goal is to ensure access to valuable community resources to those living with cancer. The group will also provide hope, encouragement, education and sanctuary. HOPE will meet on the last Thursday of each month at 5:30 PM at the Batesville United Methodist Church and will feature a guest speaker, time for topic discussion and fellowship. The Batesville community and beyond are invited to attend! The first session is scheduled for Thursday, June 26 and will feature a discussion around the emotional rollercoaster of cancer and the fear of recurrence.
