Emergency officials say a quick response kept a fire in Southwestern Franklin County from getting out of control on New Years Day.

The Oldenburg Eagle Fire Co. responded around 10 p.m. to a house on Enochsburg Road owned by Dan and Amy Strub.

According to Oldenburg firefighter Charlie Israel, flames were coming from the chimney when emergency crews arrived.

Four people were home during the blaze however no one was hurt.

The twelve responding firefighters were able to put out the fire within thirty minutes, causing little to no damage.
