Everett Eugene “Gene”  Carter, 75 ,  of Lawrenceburg, IN,  passed away Thursday, December 5, 2013 in Lawrenceburg, IN.

He was born Sunday, March 3, 1938 in Dearborn County, Indiana, Son of the late James Carter and the late Florence Kent Carter.

He was a Dry Wall installer.  Gene enjoyed watching football, was a Nascar fan, and liked to visit with friends.  He will be missed by all of his many friends.

Services will be held Friday, December 13 2013, at 6:00 pm.with Pastor Charlie Hill officiating.

The Batesville United Methodist Church, in partnership with Margaret Mary Health, will soon be offering a cancer support group whose goal is to ensure access to valuable community resources to those living with cancer. The group will also provide hope, encouragement, education and sanctuary. HOPE will meet on the last Thursday of each month at 5:30 PM at the Batesville United Methodist Church and will feature a guest speaker, time for topic discussion and fellowship. The Batesville community and beyond are invited to attend! The first session is scheduled for Thursday, June 26 and will feature a discussion around the emotional rollercoaster of cancer and the fear of recurrence.
