Eisert3Evelyn M. Eisert, age 84 of Batesville, died Sunday, May 25, 2014 at The Waters of Batesville. Born April 7, 1930 in Ripley County Indiana, she is the daughter of Hilda (Nee: Kestler) and Ralph Engel. She married Robert Eisert October 16, 1948 and he preceded her in death May 12, 1986. She was a member of St. Paul’s Crossroads Lutheran Church and the Batesville V.F.W. Ladies Auxiliary. A homemaker, she also helped run Red’s Oasis for nearly twenty years.

Evelyn spent much of her time helping others as a volunteer. Many will remember her countless hours working at Margaret Mary Health in addition to driving family and friends to the city for appointments. Activities she enjoyed included working jigsaw puzzles and traveling. She and Bob were able to make several trips including visits to Las Vegas, Florida and to Canada.

She is survived by her daughters Carol (Dennis) Tebbe of Greensburg, Debi (Mino) Williams of Batesville; sons Don (Helen) Eisert of Batesville, Steve (Jenny) Eisert of Morris, Jim (Wendy) Eisert of Morris, widow of Robert “Red” Eisert, Wanetta Stille-Eisert; brothers Robert Engel of Columbus, Indiana, Floyd Engel of Napoleon, Indiana; 13 grandchildren and 10 great grandchildren. In addition to her husband and parents, she is also preceded in death by her son Robert “Red” Eisert.

Visitation is Thursday, May 29th, from 10 a.m. until 1 p.m. at the Weigel Funeral Home. Funeral services follow at 1 p.m. with Rev. Robin Owens officiating with burial will be in St. Paul’s Cemetery Crossroads. The family requests memorials to Phi Beta Psi Sorority Cancer Research.
