freakEdwin Lee “Freak” James Sr., 83, of Aurora, Indiana, passed away Sunday,

February 16, 2014 in Lawrenceburg, I N.

He was born Friday, October 17, 1930 in Aurora, Indiana, Son of the late

Edwin Arthur James and the late Nola Satchwell James.

Edwin worked at Alton Box from 1950-1997. He then worked at Aurora Casket

Co. for 4 1/2 years. He was a longtime member of the Aurora Eagles.

Freak was an excellent athlete. He loved any kind of sports and was good at

any sport that he played. He even played the pre- Reds baseball team called

the Flints and he played football for a team in Tulsa Oklahoma. Freak loved

the outdoors. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, golfing and horseshoes. He

loved his family and enjoyed time spent with them.

Surviving are Daughters, Anita (Joe) Ritch of Aurora, IN, Linda (Charles)James-Jenkins of

Cleveland, OH, Edwina (Brian) Lanphier of Aurora, IN; Son, Edwin Lee

(Florence) James Jr. of Rising Sun, IN;  Billy Hizer of

Indianapolis, IN;  Ruth Ann (Tom) Payne of Utica, I N; Sister,

Edith (Dick) Hostetler of Moores Hill, IN; 9 Grandchildren; Robin (Robert)

Lyons, Nysa (Chris) Hogue, Candice (Nick) Coyle, Edwin James, Lydia James,

Adam (Lindsay) Heist, Stacey (Joe) Beal, Melina Messer-Holcomb, & Deena

Collins 13 Great Grandchildren and 2 Great Great Grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his wives, Gloria Brown, Della Sullivan and Amanda Stamper

Friends will be received 5:00 – 8:00 PM, Wednesday, February 19, 2014 at the

Rullman Hunger Funeral Home, Aurora, Indiana.

Services will be held at the Funeral Home, Thursday, at 11:00 am with Pastor

Charles Hill officiating.

Interment will follow in the River View Cemetery, Aurora, IN.
