Edward L. Watson

Edward L. Watson, 93 of Aurora passed away Wednesday April 19, 2017 at Rush Memorial Hospital in Rushville.  Edward was born Tuesday November 13, 1923 in Humphrey, (Casey County) Kentucky the son of Alonzo and Pearl (Byrd) Watson.  He married Freda Inez (Salyers) Watson October 21, 1946 and she preceded him in death February 23, 2003.  Edward served his country in the US Army during WWII having served in the European Theatre of Operations.  He retired as a steel fabricator for Enerfab Corp. in Cincinnati. He was a member of the Boilermakers Union and a life member of the VFW.  He loved traveling anywhere, near or far, puttering around his property, telling stories, and his family.

His survivors include sons Chester Watson of Mt. Healthy, Garry (Deborah) Watson of Rushville, daughters Mary (Robert) Wesley of Dillsboro and Darla Watson of Aurora, 13 Grandchildren and 17 Great Grandchildren, brothers Ralph, Claud and George (Jo) Watson and sisters Maude Wheeler, Letha (Julian) Hines, Betty (Lloyd) Hopper, and a host of friends.  He was preceded in death by his wife and brothers Marion;, Leo and Bobby Watson and sisters Pauline Salyers, Ruth Watson and Jewell Perkins.

Funeral services will be at 11AM Tuesday April 25, at Washington Baptist Church, 5496 E. US 50, Dillsboro, 47018 with Pastor Brian Dempsey and Brother Lloyd Hopper officiating.  Burial will follow in Washington Cemetery with full military honors.  Visitation will be 5-8PM Monday April 24, also at Washington Baptist Church.  Memorials may be made to the Church.  Arrangements entrusted to Laws-Carr-Moore Funeral Home, Milan; go to www.lawscarrmoore.com to leave an online condolence message for the family.
